The title says ...."tags a grander", but I'm still waiting to see that. That fish is no where close to being a grander.

Very good vid! Reminds me of the many days I spent on The Reef, playing with the black girls with folks like John Dunphy, Laurie Wright, Jacko Erskine and Mal Florence (rest in peace, old friend). Awesome place, awesome people, and those blacks are awesome animals!
One thing, though. I learned long ago not to dispute what someone on the Web says a fish weighed - especially those that are released, like the one in the video. I am too busy applauding and soaking up and appreciating the excitement over all of that to dispute the call made by the people who were there, doing it. It's hard enough to actually estimate the weight of a large marlin from a video, even if one has caught a lot of them himself. I dearly hope that Ultralite has caught and seen his share of granders in order to make his judgement. Hell, man, my momma taught me, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything." And I'll add here, "especially if you haven't been there and done that." 'Nuff said. Thank you for the video and the excitement and memories that it aroused.

Well said Fred. For some perspective on how the wide angle lens on that camera makes everything look smaller I can tell you the boat in the video, the Kanahoee, is a 50' with a big cockpit. In the video you would think it a 31 bertram if you did not know the boat.

regardless of what the black beast weighed.....i think being in the fighting chair hooked up with her would be quite the fulfilling rush...matter of fact she has better measurments than some of them XXX centerfold models...
