    Killer Whales (and possibly White Sharks to a much lesser extent) are the only natural predators for Giant ABT. Every once in a while you'll see a Giant Tuna landed that has a healed over scar from an encounter with an Orca.

    I'm a bit surprised by this occurance off North Carolina because I would have thought the water temp there now a bit high for Orcas. I have heard that Canadian Giant Bluefin begin migrating out of the Gulf of St. Lawrence area (where they are particularly vulnerable) in late Oct/November when sea temps there fall to a point that accomodates these predators.

    I've never heard of orca's here in NC either. That would be a sick sight.
