    One More contest

OK - I have been reading all the reports from all the worldwide travelers. Damn Los Suenos must have looked like a sf.com reunion these past couple of months. So knowing that everyone uses circles down there, I want to see your SINGLE best pic from wherever you fished this winter. Don't care about the species or even weather it was a circle hook or not. I just want to see some of the best fresh shots taken THIS WINTER. Post em up. Winner gets 100 eagle claw circle hooks. Contest ends Sunday night. BTW - a story behind the pic goes a long way.

    Post em up.

You gonna send me more stuff?

Whats interesting about this pic is the way he is hooked. Point just barely in the bill, not even to the barb. Three or 4 of the fish we caught that trip were hooked in similiar fashion, one was just lassoed. Amazing to me that they don't shake off

A few more examples of shaky hooksets follow.

That last one was guthooked He came up on the teaser, and I wound up the flatline to him (yes I meant to post on that other thread ). He ate the bait 4 times, three of which I felt it slide right out his throat. Each hit was more aggressive than the last, which probably explains why he got it all the way down

Just going to post this, nothing compared to what will be posted. Story behind it is as follows:
Wake up at 2 in the mourning, start preparing for a all day cod/haddock trip with giggyfish. For some strange reason, I took a bromine(spelling) on an empty stomach without thinking. Guess it had something to do with being so early. Got onto the boat and drove about two to three hours to the fishing grounds. About the second we got there, something went wrong. Started not feeling so well. Went and laid down for a while. Woke up an hour later. This pic is from later in the day. I guess once I started catching fish, I started feeling better. Hell, it wasn't even caught on a circle hook, but it is a fishing pic. Can't wait to see some of the other pics.

Those are some really cool shots. That fish would have been long gone if it was a j hook. It almost looks like it is wedged.

I'm sure there were some prettier and bigger fish caught this winter, but caught this trout on New Year's day up a little creek off the Lower Neuse River. Ultralight spinner outfit and it was a blast.

I dunno, anybody that would head to the deep out of massachusetts in the dead of winter deserves consideration, right Dunn?
