question...
i had been following the way i recieved my first one from baitmasters years ago and have been making my dredge mullet split tailed and rigged with mon.
do you find the keel type rig with the wire will run a lot better? and wedged and deboned will run better also then a flip tail!? |

Hobie2,
The pin rig will work with skirts, you just have to twist them on the wires prior to rigging. My ballyhoo pin rigs have a flasher skirt on them and they work great. |

Hobie2,
Ill just say that i don't know any OC boat that trolls just a ballyhoo dredge, most pull one of each a mullet and ballyhoo. Mullet throw a bigger profile and i beleive they work better than ballyhoo. |

We are always changing skirt colors and sizes so we would have a million pin rigs its easyer to just twist them every time. I beileve we pay about $3 for a mullet.

Thanks Pitch for the photos...nice stuff.
So that's what y'all are callin the "keel rig"? And....I'm guessing here, but some folks are riggin them with monel wire in place of the floss...correct? Pin-Rig....it would the type where the pin is left longer and twisted in front...like a mackeral rig??? or just like a bally rig with pin cut short? |
