Marlins & Sails

The fishing in Guatemala, the sailfish Capital of the world is not only hot for sails but also for marlin.

A four person group staying at Buena Vista Sportfishing Lodge this week released 38 sails and were 3 of 4 on Blue Marlin in just 3 days of fishing. One day in the past couple of weeks with only 5 boats fishing they released 5 Marlin in one day.

Hurry on down don’t let this hot fishing spot pass you by.

That sounds like some pretty EPIC fishing! Thanks for the update, and more importantly, thanks for running that contest here on this site. I really can't say thank you enough.

That was a very generous trip of y'all to offer and I look forward to getting down there next week!

Hopefully Bill can find a minute to keep us in the loop when he starts fishing later this week.

spent some time on the phone with the captain's from various boats last night in guatemala. Marciel said they found a big log out there and pulled a black and a blue out of the woodpile. Put a few sails on the ticket too and you got a fine guatemalan grandslam. He said the dolphin we are adult sized as well. next I think he found the log again and missed a 500ish blue and caught some big dolphin. Somewhere in there on another day over the weekend he caught a blue.

I think some of the guys from casa vieja had a good week as well with some incredible catches. Eddy on the circle hook had a day with 3 blues and a pile of sails.
