Making your own Spreader Bars
Making Your Own Spreader Bars
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am wondering if anyone has tried making spreader bars, from some fiberglass or Carbon fiber rods? I have tried to get them from Fred for the past several months, but he apparently is unable to deliver them. My order hasn't been filled after a couple of months. I know that he is having some major medical problems and some production/delivery problems. I was thinking of taking about a 1/4" composite rod and drilling holes in to mount the squid lines. I was thinking that a hole in the center to run the main line might also work. I wonder if anyone has tried this before (besides Fred)? I am sure they won't be as good as the ones Fred sells, but given the fact that he is unable to deliver them, I am looking for alternatives. Thanks in advance, Marty |
