DAY 3 is well underway...10 am update > 144 billfish, 82 sails and 62 marlin > Spanish Fly in first with 2800 points, Dragin Fly in second with 2600 points and Sea Angel in third with 2400 points. Go get those marlin!

‎12 noon update> 167 billfish, 95 sails, 72 marlin > first Sea Angel on time 2900 points, second Dragin Fly 2900 points, followed by Spanish Fly 2800 points

....unfortunatley, we couldn't pull it together. James had us in the meat all day. He got word of a sailfish bite that had materialized the day before and we were there bright and early with dozens of sails finning and swimming around the boat. Lines in the water and we thought for sure we were going to get hooked up immediately, but the sails were a little lethargic, trolling around, over and through them for more than an hour before raising a fish to the bait. We couldn't convert multiple fish in the baits to multiple hook ups, landing only one double header of the several opportunities that James gave us. We ended up getting 15 good bites, landing 8 sails, good enough to barely hold on to 2nd place.

Great tournament and a lot of fun. I'm super proud of James, Berto and Chela. Wayne and Pat, my teammates also did a great job. Maybe we can keep consistent in Leg 2.
