Yep, your gonna need stitches
Guatemala History Lesson, 1991 ILTA Billfish Tournament

Large Picture
Here is Miss Billfish 1991 and this is where I semi-bluffed my way into this tournament and after releasing the first sailfish of Club Nautico's First International Billfish Tournament I went on to come in fourth.
Back then there weren't any inboard sportfishermen on the coast and everyone used the ramp at Club Nautico, Puerto Quetzal for their outboards. The old Istapa inlet was Panga only before even the dangerous rock jetty inlet was open.
I just got done posting some pictures I shot back then on my web site and I know a lot of Guatemalans watch this page so maybe if you look back there you'll find some memories.
1991 ILTA Billfish Tournament
As to the present, the boat "Tijereta" is ready to go and though no where near the size or speed of the Battlewagons that have invaded Guatemala since then it is a comfortable ride with a great captain and crew that will put you on fish without breaking your bank. For a great laid back vacation for larget groups the rest of Parlama Sportfishing's boats are available at great prices.
I'm trying to plan my personal time down there , but if you're ready to go I'll help you get there. Give me a call anytime 609-484-0409

Stop staring at my Avatar.
Cool old photos, thanks for posting! The ILTTA returns to Guatemala this year, Nov. 10-13. Our team finished second in last year's tournament in East Cape so we're looking forward to this one for sure...
