    galapagos first day report

had a great first day with capt bradon. started off the day with a 35lb wahoo for nico. they said it was only the second wahoo they have ever caught on the bank. nico hooked it on a squidnation stub master on 100lb mono. then we went 6 for 12 on stripe marlin. most came to the dredge and the short teaser. the dredge was a squidvious dredge. the green dredge did not do as well. also had two to others hooked. one was lost due to tackle failure and the other jumped off after 10 minutes. also caught a silky shark and caught a small yellowfin that was sharked.

all in all a great day. A couple observations. If you don't get them quickly on the first run when they stay up top then you are in for a long deep battle.

also the fish are aggressive and as bradon said to me today. had we not brought the small medium ballyhoo our percentage wouldn't have been nearly as good. their bally's are about 2lbs each.

    can't wait for tomorrow.

pics when i get back or when alex gets back. he has got some killer shots.

I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could. Agitated88's Avatar
