Fishing PV with Capt Josh Temple

Well what can I say. The past spring I got an email from Josh suggesting we take teh World Circle Hook Tour to PV in Sept to see how they catch Yellowfin cows. Not really a normal stop but deffiently peaked my interest.

We arrived to hollowing winds and a rare blowout. Since Slipslidin nick got on the phone with Capt Sal from Tunatyme charters and asked if he could take us out inshore for some roosters. Cappy was incredible. Guy didn't know us from Adam and he wouldn't stop searching until he finally got us hooked up with Lora and his 28ft panga. A few hours later we were trollinng live hardtails for Roosters. Never got bit but we did catch about 10 species of fish including, Neeters, triggers, hounds, rainbow runner. It was a very cool after of fishing and we had a great time. Thanks again Lora and Capt Sal.

Sat woke up to a calm ocean and Josh took us out to Corbitena Rock where we trolled around a bunch of birds and bait but had no love. So josh had us pick em up and we headed to El Banco where we arrived to school after school of bait and spinners and bustin tuna. Put out some bars and had a triple of small yellowfins in no time flat. Got some meat and started making bait. Had the bonitos on the #20 Circle hooks and started slow trolling. Finally got bit and had OCcapt al in the chair to do battle with a mini cow around 175lbs. What a beast!!!!!!!!!!!!! All mad pretty quick work of his fish considering the size. Next we had the spinners jumping right by the boat. Had another YF pop the long rigger and I fed and came tight. This one turned out to be a bit smaller but still a respectable 100lber that we released. I'd love to see some east coast reactions when Capt Josh said let that little baby crow up for next year these boys like their tunas supersized. Had a triple headed porpoise bite that resulted in 3 sancochos. Not that we wanted to hook any of them. That was a dead. Thanks again Josh and crew. I can honestly saw that fishing with Slip, Seabiscuit, Doubled, and OCcaptain al was a truly great time. Can't wait to do it again. DD and Al have some phenominal pictures that I am sure they will post sometime soon.

Thanks Josh - had a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a great time. You guys worked hard all day for us and it paid off! The chef a Margaritas worked wonders with the fish, we had some raw and he cooked it five different ways. First class meal! I couldn't eat until late afternoon yesterday!

Thanks Again,

Josh, Ben and Ryan run a serious, hard fishing operation. We took one hell of a chance going to pacific Mexico for only two days (3 nights) and got very lucky to fish one of those two days. Fishing with the best sometimes compensates for limited fishing time. It did this time.

Thanks Bill for putting it together and being fearless in all aspects of your leadership of this expedition!

Al, Doug and Nick,
thanks for the laughs and great times.

Where to next?

Great friends, great accomodations, great fishing, great eats, great laughs, great memories. Recipe for success and a success it was. Thanks Bill, Al, Doug, and Nick for having me along. Enjoyed every moment. Thanks to Capt Josh and crew for putting us on the biggest yellowfin I have seen first hand. Capt Sal from Tuna Tyme Charters took the ball and ran with it. He made numerous phone calls to local captains to ensure that we made it out on the water on the first day. Thank you very much Capt Sal. You are a class act. Bill, you definitely put a great trip together. Thanks for your hard work. Nick.
