Fishing from Feb 17 to Feb 23 2011

Fishing report Feb 17th thru Feb 23th we had a full lodge with Charlie Helmer group, Charlie, Leann, Joe, Amanda, John, Jody and Sam and King Cunningham group, King, Mary, Ivonne, and Carl from Alabama. Fishing has been great with 15 to 30 raises a day sails being typical.
On the 19th, I took all the ladies in Charlie´s group on the Stragos, King´s group fished in the Furious and the guys from Charlie´s group fished the Monkey Business. We had a little calcutta to making it fun. I cried the night before as we were planning this min tournament that I was going to be at real disadvantage as the ladies did not have nearly the experience of the guys I was fishing against.
I knew I was sandbagging them as women typically listen much better than men and I knew I was going to be in the cokpit with them as Captain Jimmy Fajardo was going to be at the helm. We won with one 300 pound blue marlin, 05 sailfish and 01 big Dorado. The ladies did a great job! The only real errors on our team were committed by me as I missed 4 sailfish consecutively and then topped it off with a sancocho big Dorado. By the end of the day I was back in practice but have decided I should keep my hand on the wheel and let my young quick mate keep the hooking the fish. Yesterday the Monkey Business raised 16, hooked 13 and released 10. The Furious raised 28 and released 15.
