Fish ID

They were ID'd by a fish expert in the latest australian sportfishing mag as Stripeys.

I am curious as to the distinguishing characteristics between Stripey and Blue....not questioning the distinction at all....just curious how the ID can be conclusive. If anyone has any input in regards to this it would be interesting to read. Again, not questioning the ID at all....

Here are some photos of baby marlin caught in the south pacific.

Notice the length of the beak on the baby blue. They are very short whilst the striped marlins beak is quite large.

The first 2 are blues and the last is a stripe.

To me the dorsal on the Stripey also seems taller than the blues.
