Personally I like to feed it through the clip. It is much faster to set baits IMO as I have the long riggers dangling and the baits being dropped back as the other mate is releasing the fish. One thing I have seen with flossing loops is some people now must watch the spool for the loop instead of where the line is going, only to forget about squid chains and other objects including the fish attacking your bait while letting it ouit. Also going through the pins allows for much better adjustment of your baits. I also feel I can be ready for that bite on the inside of a hard turn.
That being said, maybe for an angler who doesn't have much experience he can possibly do better with the flossed loops, or twisted in the clips, with the drags set extremely light (like flat lines). Or locked up if he's really bad
If the angler is hooking his own and is experiensed with the loops I'll twist them in the clips for him because thats how he's used to it but it deffinatly slows things down.
Another thing I've seen with flossing loops also is that it can make someone lazy. Now leaders that should be changed get put off changing because the line is already marked and now it's written in stone that the loop gets put into the clip no matter how short the line. Have you ever seen flying ballyhoos. But that is another story.
