Dredge Setup idea

It looks to me like this is going to be far enough out on the rigger to keep it away from the boat however it also looks like now it's out of reach unless you bring the riggers in. Are you able to reach it to change it out? Maybe grab it with a gaf?

Sterling, I have a 3rd cord on the riggers I use for teasers and it has a ring and we run it up and down to move the teasers, you can run the dredge cord through it and when you pull it down the dredge will come right to the boat, no reachin or using gaff to grab it !!

I have an idea to run a dredge from my outriggers with a pulley in front of the weight and a reel attached to my tower leg. I have a couple strip dredges and may one day run heaver dredge but the strip ones are fine for now. My question is: Do you think it will work? Also, what size reel do you think I will need to pull it in (and how would you recommend attaching a reel to a 2 inch pipe?). Remember, the pulley gives you a 2:1 mechanical advantage but it is twice as slow coming in. Thoughts?

no, i dont like that set up at all. use little pulleys on the rigger itself and or coming off the dredge rod. dont have pic but will try to get one

Sorry, but does anyone have a better diagram or explanation on this system. Running a 32 Carolina classic and would like to get the dredge out of the wash more. Any help would be appreciated.
