    Dakar, Senegal report

Went out today with my daughter, first timer, caught a 98 kilo blue and a 20 kilo yellowfin. excellent trip, weather great. fishing out of hotel Diorama with guy named Fabrice. Saw whales, turltes, and thousands of dolphins. cost of full day trip, $400 US or 180,000 cfa. I can live with that. two for two with this captain. Life is good!!! shut up and fish!!!

Awsome, how long a run was it? What depth? I heard the sail fishing was also good this time of year? What was the craft? Final thing; how are the flioghts now, I had heard Delta quit making the Atlanta-Dakar run, but no confirmation.

I ask all this as I am thinking of taking a job back in the region.

Any other contact info on the skipper, or do you have to go through the hotel?

Went out at 9 am and back in at 6pm. started fishing 2 miles out at about 100 meters. fished straight south to 1000 meters and turned around. 30 foot center console. Hooked up 3 sailfish but couldn't set them. Sailfish get busy in July through october i guess. go through the hotel, i just met him on the beach. I can obtain his info for you. Max three fisherman on his boat. $400.00.

Good to see a report from Dakar where I got to fish for 12 years!....
Got to smile when you said, departure 9.00am.... I have a very hard time getting up before sunrise here!!! Sails show up thick @ the end of June. Ask around who goes to "Le Dalton" approx 70 miles NW of Ngor... We did overnighters as it is far for there but that is the Blue Mama Capital for the area...
Eat a good Tcheb bou Djiene for us!

John, your not in the construction game for mining are you? I'm looking for the project excuse to get back there. Currently working Afghanistan and the rotation schedule is killing me for fishing and hunting.
