I believe it. It has been an interesting year for fishing.
2 tarpon were hooked and lost a few days ago at Winter Quarter Shoal.
I have only heard of cuberas as far north as Oregon Inlet in the past. Those fish are like ghosts on the SE coast. You only hear of one here and there just to keep believing that they exist.

Well I spoke to Larry Jock of the Coastal fishermen and verified that it was true. it was caught off a tug boat wreck at an undisclosed location. there is a picture of it in last weeks coastalfisherman
Plenty of them off SE North Carolina,just have to be diving to see them.Been here for many years.
Caught a 55lb off of hatteris fishing for blue fin on the release should have put it in for record
