Your right, It is a good thing, and its not just your opinion, there is hard and fast scientific data proving the mortality from the use of J hooks is around 50% as apposed to 5% with circles.

Switching to circles makes since not only becuase of better hook up, but I can't imagine looking at a bait box loaded up with j hook rigged ballyhoo ready for a double digit billfish day. The methods most used with the circles makes the pit run much smoother and being "ready" is the key to running up the numbers.

WOW! I am personally delighted to see the big percentage of marlin guys using circles on a regular basis nowadays. This is a huge change from just a very short time ago and is simply terrific news and a great credit to those who got the ball rolling on this and made the switch early-on. The fish and the fishermen are way better off for it.
