So I don't live around an ocean and don't get to go offshore fishing nearly as much as I would like. But I do have a local river in my backyard which can provide some pretty good bass fishing when the right bait is acquired.
So I had picked up some circle hooks for a upcoming trip south, and I thought what the hell I'll give the smallest set I have a go down in the river with some minnows. What would ya know, first cast in with the minnow, I feel the hit, let him eat it for maybe 5 seconds, and just start reeling. I bring him up to my feet, grab him by the lip, and look at that, right in th e corner of the damn jaw. I thought it would possibly be a fluke, next three casts all hooked the same way right in the corner of the jaw and every fish that hit I landed. Before using J hooks it would be a pain to make sure you didn't miss the fish. Not this time!
I'm sold, I still can't believe how well they worked, even when they were overkill for the application (I think)
