I am putting together a circle hook tour of the top captains in the top locations worldwide. We will learn how to rig, bait, hook and angle billfish with the absolute best. We will start in florida in jan. Then go to mexico in feb, guatamala or dominican in march, venezuela in march, april will bring the best in blue marlin fishing in venezuela, may will take us to the dominican, and by june you will be ready to compete. PM me if you are interested in any or all of these dates. This is no classroom or firehall seminar. This is hands on line in the water training. Only the truly ate up need apply. BTW I am not the teacher, the captains and mates are the teachers. I will just be filming it all for you.

I know this will floor you but I am starting to go circle crazy. I know, I know... Me? The circle hater king? Well all along I have said I don't object to them with nakeds. I have half ass piddled with them for the last few years trying to overcome an issue I have with them. After being forced into their use I decided to take on the task seriously of getting aquainted with the round one. Since September I have been chin deep in getting them right. I studied a bunch of methods of rigging. Some I liked and some didn't sit well with me.
About six weeks ago. I was using them with live hoos. I had a problem getting proper hooksets. Thanks to a very simple tip from some members here, that improved almost instantly. I incorporated that simple fix into a rigging way I had been getting close on and son of a gun it really works. Kind of a hybrid thing using some of this and that from other rigs and a couple tricks of my own.
I'm busy as a one armed paper hanger right now but I'll see if I can't find the time to photo the process and forward it to you.

OK we just got the details of the first leg. Like I said this is a hands on fishing trip that will teach the participants the particulars of circle hook billfishing. But on the first leg we would like to also take advantage of another thriving fishery in Florida. So here are the details.

jan 25th - Fly into Palm Beach, Florida. I will pick you guys up at the airport. Current cost to Palm Beach from BWI (just an example price) is $188.00. This is not included in the package.

Check into hotel and meet at the dock Friday afternoon for a hands-on Circle hook rigging demonstration.

Jan 26th - Full day live bait kite fishing for sails with Capt Jon Duffy of the Billfisher. We will not be fishing on the Billfisher but will be on a state of the art fishing vessel. It will either be a 50+ custom boat or a contender depending on number of participants and desire.

Jan 27th - Half day Sailfishing and hands on rigging. Return to dock and reload. Now heres is where we will deviate a bit to take advantage of the Florida Fishery. We will reload and go back out for an evening of swordfishing.

Jan 28th return Home.

Folks Capt Duffy is a proven tournament winner including high point billfish release in the 2007 WMO and winner of the Cape May- Ocean City Marlin Club Challange Cup in 2007. He has consistantly been considered one of the best billfishermen on the east coast while running the private boat Billfisher. This is a serious opportunity to fish with one of the best. The opportunity will be documented with video and stills digital images, all participants will receive a disc documenting the trip. Instruction and learning aside be ready to catch some fish and have some serious fun. This opportunity is open to 4 participants. Isla Mujeres, Mexico - Feb 7-11th Circle hook dead bait fishing 3 days on the Pumpin Hard with Captain Gary Stamm. Isla has long been known as one of the top "go to" places for winter sailfishing. 15 to 30 shots a day are not uncommon for this fishery. Capt Stamm is one of the finest billfisherman in the mid-atlantic with many tournament wins under his belt.

We added another two boats for the same dates. We will have Big Hunter and Frequent Flyer from Morehead City, North Carolina. Again - we are too lucky to have Capt's Brian Peele (Big Hunter) and Glynn Loftin (frequent Flyer) available to help us navigate through the circle hook learning curve.

Venezuela - March/April 2007 - The actual dates for this trip has not been determined as of yet. 3 days Blue Marlin circle hook fishing as guests of Captain Butch Cox on the Prime Time. Captain Cox has been considered one of the most sought after billfish captains on the tournament trial. He has to his credit many International and states side tournament placings including

1st place - 2006 The third Annual Dare County Boat Builders Challange
2nd place - 2005 Ocean City Tuna Tournament
