Bill, here is another method we came up with about 4 years ago. We just adapted our double hook rig to the Owner, tournament legal #5379. I couldn't tell you if it produces any better than any other rig but it does offer an alternative to the single hook.

The Owner hook seems to have a much wider gap than most circle hooks and as you can see doesn't look too bad rigged in the traditional method.

Does anyone who fished the Reef this year have instructions how the Cairns crews rig their "scad" (very similar to spanish mackerel) baits to swim with a circle hook? I've read references to this rig but never seen a photo yet.
