Blue Marlin dragged around town

Anybody hear about the Sea Hags fish getting hooked up to a truck by a couple of drunk kids and getting dragged around town last night. Apparently they were caught and arrested around 5:00am

Nope, didn't hear about that one. I do, however, remember a barracuda making the rounds in Brazil behind a motorcycle with a couple of "happy" folks on it!
Can we have another screening of that classic video?

I had heard the fish was stolen... but no reliable details of what happened.

The weigh station is next to my boat on "A" dock.

The fish was left on the dock and around three AM, somehow they managed to hook a line to her and drag it through all of the vendor setups and out onto the road taking her through the main gate back into Ballast Point, the high dollar part of the cove for a grand tour. Apparently they didn't make it back out of the gate and as you can imagine the old girl was a little skinned up.

All involved are now staying at the famous "Manteo Hilton" gettting three hots and a cot for a yet undetermined amount of time.

I for one wonder where the police were, every morning when I get to the boat around 5 am they are sitting under the pavilion watching over everything, maybe they were on break ??

Lots of tournament excitement thats for sure.

So they just leave the fish hanging all night??? Isn't that a little weird? Seems like a waste of good meat that could otherwise have gone to a good cause no? What tournament is this????

Fish was weighed in after nine last night.
They use a sky track to hang the fish on a digital scale and it was then left lying on the dock.
I'm surprised also, usually they take the big ones to Wanchese and put them in the cooler at the fish house until the next day.

It's the Pirates Cove Tournament, Manteo, N.C.

Crying shame...Complete lack of sportsmanship and respect.

Truly a shame when a fish like that goes to waste.

The guys ran from pirate's cove and were pulled over after the bridge to cops waiting for them and were released this morning with numerous charges.

Troy did you see the trail all the way to BP and back?

I don't know why they left the fish like that but it doesnt surprise me
