I heard about this while I was up there at the tournament but like everything else, it was some truth surrounded by a ton of rumor--interesting to get the real deal from the paper. I had heard that there was a high-speed chase with the cops in pursuit, that the fish was in the back of the truck but somehow fell out on the bridge, just crazy stuff...

I guess I'm also disappointed that the tournament wasn't prepared to take care of a big dead blue marlin, even at 10PM when the fish was weighed. Whether you have a refrigerated truck in the parking lot or a fish house on call, whatever, I think it's kinda sad that the fish went to waste like that. Even the Outer Banks has hungry people that could have used some fish to eat. On the same note, I heard that the big blue at the WMO was butchered up by a bunch of guys in plain view of the spectators--I'm sure that was a gory mess right out of a horror flick...
