Black Drum with Circle Hooks

Fishing in Delaware Bay for Black Drum I had a couple rods in with circle hooks and a couple with J hooks. My wife's rod went off with a circle hook and set reel in an hooked and later landed a 65 pounder. While my wife was hooked up another rod went off with the J hook. I thought I set the hook well and was playing the drum for a couple minutes when it spit the hooks and I pulled up two empty J hooks.

While we were waiting for the bit I was thinking about changing out the circle hooks. Now all my setups are rigged with circle hooks.

I always use circles for drum. All of them get released (the big ones).
