    Bimini or Chub Billfish Bite?

I was wondering if anyone knows how the billfish bite is around the Bimini or Chub cay over in the Bahamas. We might be headed over there this weekend and I wasn't sure if we could be getting into any billfish. I've heard the dolphin school up in the cut off Chub and marlin are right with them. Any reports or info would be great.

OK thanks, we're headed over saturday and we'll be there all next week. I heard today of a nice whitey and a big tuna being caught high speeding for wahoo and I've also heard of a lot of wahoo and dolphin but not much for marlin.

The marlin bite won't really heat up for another 3 months or so around Bimini north of the corner. You might get lucky and pick one up if you pull a marlin spread but right now it's wahoo time over there so bring your stuff. When I caught my first blue it was in Bimini in early march when I was a kid so there is always a chance one is hanging around. You won't hear me saying they aren't there, they just aren't there in numbers yet. I was in Bimini a few weeks ago and we didn't raise one billfish. We were dragging ballys and artificial dredges but we always high speed troll to and from different spots. Picked up some nice dolphin on the ballyhoo and a few wahoo over 50lbs while high speeding. No slobs this trip but we did get some meat for the freezer and had a great trip. Hope ya'll get some good weather. It is getting nice out again!!!

This report was for chub. Were going to stop and check in at Bimini and stay the night then head to chub the next day.

    Bimini/Chub

Bimini wahoo bite is still very hot. Wouldnt count on a good marlin bite there. Was there last week. Some mahi around.

Has been SE wind last few days, Chances of decent Marlin bite at Chub is good. If you dont have SE wind mahi/marlin bite at Chub is slow. You can wahoo fish at Chub as well. Edges over at Morgans and Joulters are good.

Blaine and Scott Steffy were in chub last week, caught a double of blues and missed another the first day, second day they caught another blue and a sail I think and lots of meatfish.
