Witchdoctor off the port cockpit cleat, even if Pitchbait does pick on me about it.![]()
Mr Brad is getting itchy for warm water!!!
Gotta love that Marlin-X posted by Pino...
In our bad old days in Senegal when we slow trolled with BIG baits we'd tie up a sailfish as teaser... Not ethically correct anymore but you'd be surprised of what it raised and how it got wacked!
We used to pull the Big Kahuna teaser, I just liked it's side to side action with the mirrors and that flash a couple feet under water just made us feel good on slow days...
Haven't fished for billfish since we're back at it but I believe the action of the bowling pins does get some attention from the meat we go for here.

Most of the time we have a green stick bird tied off to the port cleat. I can't count how many white marlin have picked up the flatline positioned right behind the damn thing.
I'm curious, any one want to guess what percentage of boats are pulling large style teasers?
Biggest teaser I have ever heard of being used was by Mark Sampson on the Fish Finder. That same day Dove hunt got in the tug of war with the blue, Mark caught a huge Mako Shark. after an incredible display of jumps right next to the boat they finally subdued the Mako (he doesn't shoot sharks). Well they tailed roped him off the back and drug him backwards for a few hours. He calls me on the radio and said he just released a white marlin. He put the ballyhoo a few feet behind the mako's nose. So I guess he was using a 700lb teaserI took this picture of the mako while they were boating it at the end of the day.
