Best soft Ice Cream - I remember as a kid a place called the Early Bird which was somewhere between Pt Lookout and Waldorf
Best Ice Cream was Gifford's Ice Cream Parlor in Silver Spring, Md. I don't think it is their anymore - We recently found a place outside of OC on route 50 that has the best Ice Cream I have ever had. It is that little green farm house on the right as you are leaving OC.
Best bottle of water and 1/4 lb of turkey - ESPADON![]()
Hands down best burrito ever in Austin, Texas at Bob's Burrito. Also had the best soda ever, the original dublin dr. pepper made with pure cane sugar. Glass bottle or fountain with shaved ice.

Best Buffet: Bill Ellis BBQ in Wilson, NC --- they even have a whole *pig "pickin"* up on the table!! SOOO GOOOOOD!!!
Best Daquiri: McGuire's, Destin FL -- their Irish Wake is also the Best, it will knock you off your a$$ (it does to me anyway).
Best Fries: Bojangles!
Best fish is a hard one. My friends 95 year old grandmother makes a incredible baked snapper with anchovies and olives. My girlfriend steams a mean coral trout with ginger and shallots.
Crustaceon would either be the wood fired morrocan crayfish i had at my friends vineyard or my own singapore style chilli mud crab.
Steak would have to be the Wagyu F1 cross from the local butcher done on the bbq with a bit of anchovie butter or a slab of stinky blue cheese.
Squid caught my self, chilled and sashimid.
Duck, poached and then deboned and deep fried and served in an asian style blood orange sauce in Hong Kong.
I have lots of favourite foods. I dont go to restaurants much however I buy lots of good cook books and go for it my self at home. My first job out of school was a chef in a top french seafood restaurant and I aim high with my cooking.
I don't know if there is a story on the MMG yet. I know Gary was looking for something. Sadly, I have not run into him for a little while now. i usually spend some time drinking with him duriong the wee hours on NYE, so i may get some infor then, but the odds of me remembering it will not be good....
BUT, yes the MMG needs to reopen, I miss the whole experience.
