alot of different choices.
some of the rods you have seen may be used for double duty.
or older rods used for teaser.

the 50 would be a little lighter.and cheaper
easier moving, less costly.
the 80 may pull a little more line in with a turn.
i am not sure what other factors would be involved. in using a 50 rather than a 80.
