Ballyhoo
I was trying to think of new ways to make of a easy rig for ballyhoo on circle hook. How about a a small zip tie through the eyes of the ballyhoo with the circle hook on the top? Anyone have any critiques?

You have to have a way to close the bally's mouth. But give it a try and let us know how it worked.

One friend zipped tied the hook to the top of the head and put a matanza, b/w ilander and mini chugger on the front to keep the mouth shut. He went two for two on bluefins with one coming on the matanza and one coming on the b/w ilander. It seemed to work very well for a few others that did it with the little b/w ilanders. Others just bought huge circle hooks and rigged them up like a normal chin weighted ballyhoo. |
