Just thought I would share Olaf's Ascension recap. Sounds like they had some ups and downs. This place is hell to get to but I sure would like to try it one day.

Matthias Henningsen and me fished for the last 15 days in ascension. Here are the results :

Today was our last day for this trip and we had a good finish ! Nice calm weather and a 750 pound blue for Clive finished off a nice week of fishing.
We also saw a small mako freefeeding on a jack.
We will be back in january !

We only had a couple of doradoattacks today.

Peter caught a 300 pounder today on the blue breakfast and we raised another fish around 400 that came behind a lure faded away and 30 seconds later it jumped twice 100 meters behind the spread not having touched anything !

Clive caught one white marlin today on the bart superplunger and Matthias saw a big blue crossing the spread.

Still unusually many blue marlin here for this time of the year !
We had two bites from blues wich were really agressive attacks but no hookups.One was around 300 ( Hawaian breakfast) and the otherone about 600 pounds (Bart Superplunger).Shortly after we had the bite of the 600 I saw an enormes dorsal and tail quit far behind the spread. We had another knockdown of a small billfish of wich Iīm not certain what it was.
The wild hooker saw 8 blue marlin of wich they had 6 in their spread and got four bites .
They caught only one around 800 pounds. All their bites were crashbites too and they use double hooksets with taglines compared to our long singel hooks with a small dropback.
Both systhems have the same results.

We only had 1 bite of a 500 pounder today and caught a wahoo.
Wild hooker missed two small blues.

We caught 1 out 3 small blue marlin they all hit the hawaian breakfast.
We also saw some sails.
Wild Hooker caught two blues but nothing big.

Today was our turn !
We caught a 200 pounder just after leaving the pierhead on the hawaian breakfast. In the afternoon we caught a 250 pounder on the same lure and in the evening we hooked a better fish on the hawaian breakfast again after it crashed the brasiliano and came off .
The 650 pounder finally fell of the hook 1 meter from me reaching the leader but we still enjoyed the show she put up.
The wild hooker only raised a 300 pounder and had a couple of sailfish up ( as we had as well by the way)

Peter and Clive arrived today and we raised a very big blue in the evening but ...
The wild hooker had 4 bites of blues today ! The first one they pulled the hook on was according to Oskie "a very nice one " he was not willing to tell any size. After that they missed two rats and in the evening the finally caught a 850 to 900 pounder .

we went out with the wild hooker and had a bite of a 600 pounder but it didnīt stay connected. We still had a great day with the boys !

The wild hooker caught two a 550 and a 400.

Miles Miller came fishing with us today and he caught his first 650 pound marlin on blackbarts ascension projet.

Wild hooker broke a nice fish off after it got tailwrapped very close to the boat.

We finally raised a nice blue of 800 + pounds but unfortunately no teasing or speeding up could get her to bite. Shortly after that we caught a doubleheader sailfish.

Today we caught some dorados again and raised a couple of white marlin got some knocks out of them but none stayed connected.

Our first day fishing today and Eduardo caught some dorados and a yellowfin for the start.
By the way in oktober the wild hooker caught a 1215 pound blue here.
