Arrow Anyone peg their lures when Billfishing?

Does anyone peg their lures when fishing for Whites and Sails? The reason I ask is last year in August while White and Sail fishing getting the hookup with fish on the bait and switch were no problem. We had great success doing the bait and switch with teasers and pitch baits. We had many many bites on lure/Ballyhoo combination but had a hard time getting the hookup on these lure bait combination's. I noticed after looking at the leaders they were chaffed pretty bad 4-6ft up the leader as well as near the Ballyhoo. It looked like the lure in this case a Ilander Mistress was sliding away from the ballyhoo when we would drop it back after it was knocked out of the outrigger clip. The one thing we did that finally worked was to take the boat out of gear after the lure Ballyhoo combo popped out of the clip then drop back. Our drags and clips were set as light as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks getting ready for August and September.....Mark
