So this weekend was the 43rd annual white marlin tournament hosted by the yacht club of stone harbor and run by are very own Tommy Byrne.
The tournament was a success and i got to say went off without a hitch - it was a great weekend. Fishing was slow for us on Friday but Saturday we pulled it together and went 3 for 4 on white marlins and caught the winning mahi.
our team who consisted of the Judge/Covert Mission, Intuition and Lizanne took home first place team with 3 marlin per boat totalling 9 all together.
Burns coal, Edna Jane and Sea Mistress took second
First place boat went to the sea mistress with 6 whites, outrage took second with 4 and the intuition got third with 3 (on time). 1st place angler and female angler went to Betty Raimondo (CONGRATS!!) second place angler went to Raquel Hightower and 3rd went to Dave Anderson jr.
1st place junior angler went to Rachel Linus!!! Congrats Rachel!!!
Largest Tuna went to The Dream Catcher - with a 73lb yellowfin, 1st place Mahi went to Judge/Covert Mission...2nd place tuna went to guided discovery and second place mahi went to Easy rider.
Mike Adkins got the Walt Hendee award and Shane Conner from the Tranquility got the Warren Buckingham for his first white marlin! CONGRATS SHANE!!!
All in all it was a great tournament and a great weekend. Thanks to everyone who made it possible!!! And a big thank you to the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor and Pete Miner - everything was wonderful and we all really enjoyed ourselves!
