Lining up Milton - She names her farm equipment as well as her animals.
port motor is out, safe and blocked.
Now onto the starboard motor
She looks a little roomy down there
Tomorrow we are gonna take Darlin to Indian River for the winter. So we won't be back on squidnation until fri or so. First order of work is to strip the engine room and prep for painting then paint and sound proofing. Then we are going to move the trim tab pumps and the engine lift pumps as well as the raw water washdown pump and install the fish box macerator.
Looks like a diamond in the rough, will be great to see her shinning again. Always liked that design.
Darlins a JD 7775 I just sold mine, there a beast.
Here ya go bogii - These were taken yesterday. Should be ready for paint by the end of the day today. Some stuff that may interest you here.
The engine room is bare now
Fuel tank is actually a structural part of the boat on the Mirage. Hold 230 I think. may be 260 of diesel. That gives her an incredible range
Still debating on single lever electronic controls or single lever mechanical controls. Thoughts!
we found a little delimationion on this wall. But you can clearly see where the stringer ends and the fishbox wall begins. all the void areas seem to be around where the starboard was drilled against the wall to attach the pumps. The stringer sounds solid on both sides. Acutally the hollow sounds only came from the square area where the starboard was drilled into the wall. So maybe it drillholes were not sealed properly. Because even a little to the aft and stern of the squared outline it sounded very solid.
This was pretty cute. The exhaust elbow didn't fit on the starboard side so the manufacturer had to cut out a notch to make it fit. Not much else they could do if they wanted that power in the boat.
More pics on Sat or Sunday.
