Brian, My custom jm/xzoga jig rods have all been chopped from the bottom to 5'1. you still have huge amounts of lifting power so no real need to chop off the tip.

Great! Thanks for the re-assurance man. How long was your blank to begin with?

Yea, my blank is still on back order. It's brand new and just came out recently, plus I'm getting it for free so I'm patiently waiting and not bitching about the time delay. The 6ft blank weighs only 146g and after it's cut down to 5'4~ish..it'll be even lighter! Put some Fuji Ti guides on that badboy (like I always do) with an acid wrap and Brian's a happy guy! |

good things take time and custom rods seem to take an eternity
![]() you will enjoy the JM blank, they are very angler friendly ![]() I have gone for some very bling blue alps guides on the new blank, they look the part at least. now I just have to get used to jigging a spin reel Last edited by mozza; 10-10-2008 at 05:37 PM. |

But I would gladly take a free one of those as well I'm all about being lightweight so whatever components I use... it usually is the lightest of it's category I have only heard good things about the Alps reel seats though...very nice looking ![]() And I'm doing the opposite of you...I've got to learn how to jig overhand with a conventional ![]()

I feel like a spastic with a big spinner but I will get there
![]() I also got the pretty blue/silver alloy reel seat and gimble to keep it all looking sharp. the gimble weighs next to nothing |
