HARNELL RE-WRAP

A friend had given me these HARNELL Blanks a while back with no grip, no tip and no guides. They did have the original stickers/labels on them however. I scrounged around for some pics to replicate the rod as it would be if new. Here is my rendition.

I used a white EVA foregrip cause it was the closest I could find to the original white composite. A roller stripper guide and tip with boat rod style guides in between. Yellow/red thread with gold tape underneath on the butt wrap. It's twin sister is on the dryer as we speak.

I plopped on a Longbeach 68 from the Penn Collection and will proudly display her along with a few other eldery gems in the collection. This was fun cause I feel like I am re-giving birth to a classic.

You gotta love those Harnells. You wouldn't know the modell Number on that rewrap.

Here is some photos of a rod I just got finished. I got the blank from the new owners of Harnell and had it wrapped in there colors..

Nice work both.

Is that the heatshrink wrap over EVA??

Care to give some thoughts on that process?

My builder put the x grip over cork to match the butt end and Its not as slippery as cork alone would be.

the re wrap is a great rod. sorry for the hijacking. I will steer it another direction..
