GAZILLION $
First of all, great job, GREAT COVERAGE guys/gals. I have to know why they couldn't have aquired a few better looking beer babes, super WEAK nasties.
2. For a gazillion $ World Series of fishng tournament why are the fish off-loaded like that, even if the fish had 20 tail ropes on it I'd still be leary of dropping a 7 figure fish in the water in order to....3. drag it by hand, up the ramp to the cart then to the scale, give me a break. Shouldn't they have a little more cutting edge unloading accomadations than that, doesn't everyone think? Congrats to the winner! CABO's billfish fishery has been and continues to be truely epic and the tournamnet couldn't be at a better time of year. IRS agents state side must be having palpitations. Again, GREAT job guys/gals, keep up the great coverage for years to come and bring the BBB tournament to us fisherman who have to live vicariously. Capt. Dorian Rogers fat2na |

Bad Company
It should be mentioned that from the $1,421,752.50 award 213K was left as a nice tip for the captain and crew. What was left after taxes, the winnings will be "invested" for a land and for building a Med clinic for the people of Cabo. "Too bad" "Bad Company" The Lady in red (Pic 64 in awards) was not allowed to speak at the awards ceremony and bring home that point. Bad company's crew were first timers with a boat that was available one week before the contest. This team had not fished before, (3 men and 1 lady). The Bertram is for sale and with a 85 vintage not many wanted it for this tounrney. The winning Blue was caught 5 miles offshore!!! They could see land on the north side, (square5) What a story. Congratulations to Carlos and Team. Kuddos that they will leave the winnings to the people of Mexico.

How does Donna Meche feel?
Quote:
Donna Meche, had the Mariachi band playing after they came in with a 370 lb. Blue. I was very happy for Manuel Montejano and Juan Navarro the Capt. Manuel has been entering the Bisbee and fishing in Cabo for the last 15 years. It was nice to see him finally hook up and be recognized with the winners. Not to be. He would have placed if it was not for the Bad Company team. Now "Bad Co." with 4 fishermen that had NEVER ever caught a Marlin before and with only 2 out of 4 capable of fighting a 300plus fighter, it is mighty lucky that the strongest boy was "at the seat" when the blue struck. How lucky was it that they had a good captain and two crew that "instructed" each to how catch bait and string the jacks to lure in the Marlin without their help. Remember this "team" had never done this before but suddenly they did this all by themselves? This just is very fishy to me. (IMHO) This was a purchased trophy. Congrats anyway to Sonia, shows what can be done with unlimited money. I feel bad for the ones that struggle to reach this pinnacle of fishing as Manuel Montejano. Google her and you will understand. May a Wahoo or Onu be in your line. |

So Wahoo007, it sounds almost as if you were running video on the Bad co.
And for you to say it was a "purchased fish", seems pretty balsy to me...It's as though you try to cast suspicion, not only on the team and crew, but also on the sponsors, and other behind the scene workers for this "Pinnacle of tournament marlin fishing"...Unless you actually saw something first hand, you should just leave things be for the 1st 3rd place Millionaire team of Bad Co.... Two other tidbits Wahoo: (1)-All should take note not to fire up the Mariachi Band, Sammy Hagar, or any other celebratory groups until the proverbial "Fat Lady Sings"...I mean really..and you were going for a sympathy thing here I guess... (2)-And as for your statement "the strongest BOY was at the seat".(I'm still wondering how you know so much about the goings on of a vessel that you weren't aboard.) Personally, I'm not privy to know the ages of the members of Sonias' team...But I'd bet everyone was over 21..And in my book when you can vote a person into office that can send you to die for my right to make this post..........you'd no longer be a BOY ! ! ! So what was it really Wahoo007?...........Did Sonia shoot you down?...... or did you just lose your entry fee, etc; etc. {IMHO} |
