Yesterday, the T-zzer with Capt. Alberto Perez released 1 blue marlin, 1 white marlin, 2 sailfish and a spearfish!!!!! The ol' super grand slam!!!!!!
They pulled the hook on a swordfish for the possible fantasy slam.
A fantasy slam has been caught only two times ever in the Atlantic Ocean. The first time on the Escapade (1997) with Capt. Robbie Moore and secondly on the Sharky's Revenge (2004) with Capt Bubba Carter. Both were caught in Venezuela.
Yesterday the Tijereta released 1 white and 4 sails. The Waterman released 1 blue 2 sails and caught a 182lb yellowfin tuna and a 45lb wahoo.
Friday the 6th, Febuary, the Tijereta released 1 white, 2 sails, caught a 194lb yellowfin tuna plus a couple gaffer dolphin. The T-zzer caught 4 BYFT 170lbs-200lbs and 1 blue marlin.
Thursday the 5th, The Waterman caught 4 white marlin and Tijereta released a grand slam with 1 blue, 2 white marlin and 1 sailfish. The Cuare caught 2 blue marlin and 2 sailfish.
Wednesday the 4th, the Tijereta released 3 white marlin and a sailfish. 2 gaffer dolphin.
Sunday the 1st, Waterman released a grand slam with 4 white marlin, 2 sailfish and a spearfish.
Saturday the 31st, January the Waterman released a grand slam with 2 blue marlin, 2 white marlin and a sailfish. The Cuare released 1 white marlin and caught 6 gaffers.
Friday the 30th the Waterman released 1 white marlin, caught a 178lb yellowfin tuna and 2 gaffers.
A 220kg (485lb) swordfish was boated aboard the Great Mystery the previous weekend durung the day with Capt Oscar Benitez.
The mixed bag fishing has been good here lately with a dozen or so billfish bites the norm. The BYFT are starting to arrive as well. The water conditions are improving and should produce some impressive catches.
