Hey Bob, Yes they are buit in South Florida. They originaly built 9 back in 2001-2002. They again built 2 in 2007. GlassTech is a fiberglass fabricator for Betram, Riveria and many other companies. They have been in buisness over 20 years. It was a father son operation. When the son, Nelson took over he got with navy arctichet to design hull. The boat runs unbelivable. And I run hard. It is the perfect boat for the fishing in Costa Rica. It is a true walk around. I cant begin to tell you how many sails we hooked while "trolling" while backing down on a fish. It is much bigger when you are on the boat as opposed to seeing pictures of it. The cabin has `7 head room and the cockpit is can match many `40-`50 boats. And the hull is built for speed. Nelson only builds boats to order. I am currently talking to him about streching one out to `40. My boat is hull #5.
Unusually bumpy yesterday morning, but headed to the west. Finally found the birds and caught 120# YFT, on Islander long shotgun. Looked for birds after, but heard the billfish bite, so turned and headed east 12 miles, and was soon rewarded with a Sail. Picked up after hearing others getting Bruiser teaser bites, arrived and caught a Sail, then put out all large teasers. Reward came 1/2 hr later with Blue crashing the two short teasers, but wouldn't slow down it's zigzag enough to take pitch on the 50. Faded for 2 mins, then the long right hoo is inhaled on the 30, and the battle begins. Success comes with patience, and the job was completed in 20 mins.
Seas only swells for the ride home. Found that Whitey didn't have the lens cover off, so no Pictures. So we have to do it all over again Wednesday.
Glen did it again and produced by starting where no one ekse felt like running, then doubling back to produce. Sometimes he makes these runs and smokes the fleet.![]()
