Tackle to bring to Los Suenos?

Will be heading to Los Suenos for my first visit and 3 days of fishing in two weeks and would like any info anyone can provide on tackle to bring. Besides the fly rod I was not planning on dragging the rods down but want to bring plenty of tackle to share with the boats I will be fishing on inshore and off. Is there anything in particular that is hard to get there or is a must have I can bring down with me? What about bally's?

    Welcome to the forum

You don't say if you will be chartering and what you are fishing for. If chartering out of Los Suenos, the boats will have everything you need. Ballys are plentiful

If you are taking a panga out of Herrudura, you might want to consider your own gear, most of their stuff is pretty rough.

One thing I hear is hard to get there are sabiki's

Sorry we will be on a charter boat as an owners guest two days offshore and possibly one day inshore.

If you are heading out offshore baited skirts are a must. Usually something like C&H skirts tied up with a dead balyhoo. (Dead bait can be purchased at the local fishery in herradura, some 3 to 5 minutes away from los sueños, or you can ask any captain in the Marina where to get'em.

Bigger skirted lures are useful as teasers, like the williamsons or pakulas

Tuna feathers and cedar plugs are also good for tuna, mahi mahi and wahoo.

For the inshore trip I'd recommend Rapalas xrap or magnume ithat dive from 12 to 30 feet, or any other big lipped cranks like Manns or Yo-Zuri

I've been recently experimenting with deep jigging too. Its a lot of fun. 2 to 4 oz jigs are good with tandem assist hooks.

As for patterns you can never go wrong in all white, mackerel and mahi-mahi like combinations.

Hope this helps. Any other questions I'd be more than happy to help.

    Greetings and good fishing
