Stuck in San Salvador....

Anyone ever do any charter fishing near San Salvador?

Looks like I will be spending a large amount of time here in the future and I have read a little about fishing in El Salvador but would like to get some inside info if anyone feels like sharing.

There is very good fishing in El Salvador, just seems as though the home of MS13 and a 10 year civil war bloodbath doesn't allow for much publicity

I have spent a lot of time down there...mostly surfing the amazing pointbreaks though. My good friend owns a little hotel/surf camp right on the beach in La Libertad which is about 40 minutes from San Salvador. PM me for contact for him. I think his dad still does some Panga Fishing but he knows everyone in El Salvador and will know where to send you.

Also, you are like an hour flight from Guatamala, and hour and a half from Costa Rica, 2 hours from Panama, 2 1/2 hours from Venezuela etc....your in a gateway to central america man...take full advantage...how many people can say they are shooting over to Los Suenos for the 3 day weekend!!

funny you mention Los Suenos. Went to do a job in CR and the facility wasn't ready so the owner sent us to Los Suenos and chartered a boat for us. Fantastic.

And although I've watched way to many "Gangland" episodes, and know the history of the MS13, it was still a little troubling when on the way past the gate here in El Salvador into the facility, there is about a 10 X 10 graffitti painting of "MS"
