Pearl Islands, Panama in September

Im planning a trip to pearl islands of panama. I heard good things about hacienda del mar on san jose island. I know its rainy season but this is the only time my wife and I can get off work. I was told it will rain but mostly at night every night. Which is fine by us. We are first timers. So any advice would be great. We were looking to fish 2 days and just chill the rest. The resort has a captain but I dont know anything about it. I was planning on fly fishing from shore just to mess around. Do you think it is a waste of time? I was looking for advice on another resort option, we looked at isla secas but they are closed. Any recommendations on a fishing captain? What species are around this time of year?
