NJ Striper season starts Saturday.

The weather looks chilly but nice for the Striped Bass opener. I hope to be ready here. I've contact the Bloodworm man and he should be here tomorrow afternoon with the freshest worms possible. The clam man hasn't been answering his phone, But I've been leaving messages and with this nice weather I don't think there will be a problem with the fresh clams.

Remember I'm giving rewards for the first legal stripers brought into the store after the season opens a $200 gift certificate for the 1st and check the web site for the rest. This can be caught anywhere in NJ you just have to bring it by so good luck.

Of course the great crowd will head to Graveling point, but If I was heading out i think I would go farther up the rivers. I had reports of some 20" size shorts caught up the Egg Harbor River this week and where little fish swim their big brothers and sisters probably are around.

The new moon is March 7th and if the warmer temperatures forcast for next week hold true I expect to give out the ist striper gift certificates by then if not actually on opening day.

So break out this weekend and soak some bait or throw some lures for a few hours and maybe you'll be the lucky one.

Any reports for us? Bad tied to shore fish this weekend up here, Had a blow out low this afternoon.

Any reports yet Dave??? I was going to throw the Mako in until I saw the tide was bassakwards...and 25 degrees blowing 30
