Well with May half way through and June July just around the bend, Tamarindo kicks into its Sailfish Season and most of the fishing takes place right out front- and very close to the beach!
Today was no exception, we ran just a Half-Day (4 hour) trip inshore and picked away at the Sails just 5 miles from the mooring.. Most of the fish were lingering around in 300-350ft. of water and we managed to release 3 out 6 sails. A seperate boat in the same area who was fishing a 3/4 Day ended the day with 5 Sailfish released and plenty more lost and up in the spread. There were a few more fish free-jumping and we even saw a couple closer in as we picked them up and headed back in. May, June, July signal the seasonal migration of Sailfish coming up from the south, and action starts to heat up as these fish move in close to the beach and take up residence in the local waters. Start palnning your trips boyzzz!! Capt. Adam Hermsen
