This is another report I just got from Capt. Dave Dobbins aboard the LaManta out of Quepos, Costa Rica.
"Yesterday me and some friends spent the morning Surf casting for snook at the Sevegre river mouth. The day before the fishing was really good, so we heard, but I did manage to get a nice 25 pounder that slammed my green-backed bomber in less than two feet of water. It was an excellent fight and that fish jumped at least ten times. Petin Christian also got one about eight pounds and a local with a hand line lost a 40 pounder. Those guys went back again today but I took the day off to rest. Sorry no Pic I gave the fish to Freddy. I will go down to the dock tomorrow to get an updated offshore report. The report I got from a couple of days ago was not red hot, two for three on sailfish and a few Marlin. Also heard of a few tunas that were eating plugs, nice 40 lbers."
Usually In the river mouth itself, but it depends where you see the bait fish. Sometimes they go out towards surf and a huge feeding frenzy starts. The best time is usually 3 days before and 3 days after the full moon. You can check out some more Posts that Dave has made here.
