Costa Rica Sportfishing Report
4-3-08
Today Trey and his buddies came back for another round of Sportfishing out of Quepos, Costa Rica. This time they decided to concentrate on just conventional fishing and we had an excellent day. We started off finding a nice pile of tunas and got one on the ceder plug before they shut down. Then we got this nice Dorado when he came in on the marlin lure. I'm calling him 45#s, he is bigger than he looks in this picture. We then went six for about 15 on the sailfish and then it was time to go. At 3 we came upon a log that was holding every possible manner and quantity of bait fish, and we were only two miles from the tunas! We quickly made bait and steamed out to the tunas where we shared a bait with Frankie from the Bigeye. We quickly hooked up with a nice 30# tuna and watched on as Frankies 80 doubled over from the weight of a giant. Unfortunately his fish pulled off and we quickly got our last two baits over before Frankie could bum another one.(just kidding) We got another one of about 40 lbs that had eaten both baits!! It should also be added that every single fish caught over these last two days of fishing was reeled in by Trey. The only thing left is a Marlin and they are already planning to come back next year. Thanks Guys! http://www.fishlamanta.com/fishingre...shing%20Report

Hey...save some of those for me!
I'll be down in a week, and I hope that the bite is still on. Great pic by the way. |
