Costa Rica Fishing Report

3-31-08
Today was a trip from Dave and John who sent Luis and his two lovely daughters Vivian and Jessica with us for a day of fishing out of Quepos, Costa Rica. It was one of those very rare days here when it was so rough you could hardly stand up in the cockpit. We probably would have went further had it not been for the rough weather, as we heard it was really good off the corner yesterday, but I have learned from my days as a Captain out of Hatteras that you never take the easy ride in the morning. Always "put 'er in the wind," first thing so you have a nice ride home. We did this and at first it seemed like it was the rite call as the boats that did get out to the corner weren't reporting much action at all and we promptly raised a sailfish on the short teaser that eventually ate the pitch bait but spit it. Then the other boats started to report a few bites and we weren't doing anything so I started to head inshore where the current was pushing and we released our first sailfish at 2:30pm, 12 miles out. Then we had a double header of Dorado's and landed both of them to pull out the day. The other guys were lucky to get three fish and they got the snot pounded out of them on the way in. This is Vivian Rodriguez with a nice pacific sailfish.

I'm sure he will do his best.
I'm sure he has a good list for you, I know he always has a long list for me when I go down.
