Costa Rica fishing Charter report for December 9 2011
Costa Rica Fishing Reports for us started out December here is Quepos well.. read on
Costa Rica fishing Charter report for December 9 2011, well the day looked better than yesterday...lol nice and sunny, only problem was where were the clients? As we watched the rest of the Quepos Fishing Fleet leave all I could think of was, I guess Oscar will know where the fish are when they leave.
Costa Rica fishing is always an experience and this group of 5 men are staying in Jaco, so I thought maybe they slept in for their Costa Rica Fishing Charter. About 8:00 they finally showed up, we got them loaded on the Mar 1 with captain Oscar and off they went. The fishing was slow again today, however multiple boats were able to get some Mahi-Mahi for supper and the clients on the Mar 1 were one of them. Sailfish were jumping and swimming but just weren't interested today, that big moon last night makes me think they were up feeding all night
Costa Rica Fishing Report for December 8, Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 was In shore today with return clients from earlier in the week. All I can say for today was wet, 6:30 the rain started and we found the clients after getting soaked. When we asked them if they wanted to wait they said no way lets go, so off they went. With Rain most of the morning they had a few bites but after all of that the total for the half day In shore fishing was 1 Roosterfish
Costa Rica Fishing Charters Report December 7, Captain Tim on Chasing Bills was at it again. Lately the Costa Rica fishing boats are having a hard time finding good clean water, Captain Tim was the top boat today as he found it and the clients were more than happy. Fishing Report totals for Chasing Bills today was 0 for 1 with a nice Blue Marlin, 0 for 2 on Sailfish and 2 for 4 on Mahi-Mahi
Costa Rica Fishing Report December 6 Captain Tim on Chasing Bills was out looking to make clients happy today, and with a slower than usual bite we were hoping them the best. The days fishing report from Captain Tim was 2 nice Mahi-Mahi and 0 for 2 on Sailfish
December 5 Costa Rica fishing report, what a beautiful morning, blue sky and a few clouds off to the west so we hoped we were going to be fishing with the cloud cover. Clients aboard the Mar 1 were from a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada and were used of fighting Walleye, did we have a surprise for them.
As we headed Offshore we saw a sailfish jumping at about 14 miles, and then a couple of rays jumping, but we were headed a little farther as the reports were that the fish were out another 10 miles or so. We stopped and set out lines to start the day, Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 was not really happy with the water quality but we did see some garbage left from a shrimp boat so we thought there may be some Mahi-Mahi hiding under it. Well the Mahi-Mahi weren't cooperating today so we kept trolling out.
Then we started hearing other boats seeing fish in about 40miles so that's the direction we headed. Once we got there we were able to find some good clean water and things were looking up. After a really slow morning for everyone finally there was a report of a Sailfish released, then a Marlin hook up and just as fast it spit the hook.
We were watching the spread and out of nowhere we saw a bill on the 80, off to the right side teaser, then to another bait, then to the other side and the Marlin made its decision and one of the 50's started to scream, the mate let it free spool for a minute and as he tightened down the drag Captain Oscar gunned the Mar 1 and drove the hook home, after just over an hour fight this amazing 300# (estimated) Blue Marlin graced the side of the Mar 1 with its presence and we got a couple pictures for the client and off it went
December 1 Quepos Fishing Report wasn't a great one, but with a lot of rain yesterday the water wasn't the best. Today Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 as well as another bigger charter boat as well as 2 smaller boats were fishing in shore. And to say they tried everything would be an understatement, close to the river, close to the rocks, water breaks.... and 1 boat managed a nice Rooster fish and a Mackerel, everyone else nada. Wow that's not the start we were hoping for now was it.
