Bat islands Papagayo Fishing Reports

Hi everybody,

June ends with a good score of sails and some marlins released, also a lot of dorado and yellowfin tuna caught here in the gulf of Papagayo in Guancaste Costa Rica.

On June 30,
This was a nice day for Mr. Friend and his family from the Four Seasons Papagayo aboard the LA CHILA-G boat. Jesus Mendez, captain, took them fishing out to Bat islands here in golfo de Papagayo; they raised 9 sailfish and one big yellowfin tuna.

Good Job

Great! The Bat Islands are in the middle of a national
park. Nice to see Costa Rica is still letting people
fish inside the national parks without reprecution
and you all are bragging about it. I think this boat
was probably a commercial boat turned tourist.
Keep it up and the fishery will be wrecked faster than
intisipated.
Job well done you bunch of idiots!!!

papagayo pay no attention to dlicr- he's probably a waste of space tree hugger or peta activist.

Anyway, I may be heading to your area in March- what is the fishing like that time of year? Do you do much jigging or popping on your charters?

Thanks for the help,
Shoe

shoefish,

We use to do trolling for dorado, tuna, sails and rooster and sometimes bottom fishing with live bait for cubera snapper, but few times we do poppings. However, you can do the kind of fishing you want to do, just let us know.

In other hand, this time of the year is our marlin season. We also catch dorado, yellowfin and sailfish in months betwen January and late March.

Papagayo.
