Target shallow grass with spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and frogs for best results. Some bass are still being caught close to the channel and the old river runs. T-rigged plastics and square-billed cranks should get the nod from these fish. The crappie bite should start to pick up also with the falling temps. Anglers are starting to hit the old river runs and target the deeper banks with some sort of woody cover. Best depths are 4 to 6 ft. Both minnows and jigs are catching fish. The catfish reports are fair. A few catfish are being caught on trotlines fished off the channel with cutbait.

Several fish attractors have been established in the lake to create fish habitat and a hot spot for anglers. Approximately 150 Christmas trees were added to the sites in January 2007. They provide great habitat for all species of fish. These attractors are marked with buoys for anglers to easily find and are loaded down with Christmas trees. Other habitat enhancements include several bream gravel spawning beds located near the shoreline and fishing piers. These areas are great for locating bream during the late spring and early summer months.
