"HUGE REDS.......BIG TROUT"

This past week we have had incredible action for all of our guests that fished out of the “Redfish Lodge”

We had anglers from Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and Louisiana this past week and they all wanted “HOT” Redfish action……..and that is what they received . Not only was the Redfish action awesome but during the past two weeks, the Speckled Trout have turned on.

Reds from slot size to “GIANTS” have not been a problem and daily we have had several shots of Reds over 30 pounds, most being caught in 2-3 feet of water, which creates an explosive strike and fight. Battling huge Reds on light tackle is a rush for any angler. Everything has been caught on soft plastics as well as top water baits, and yes a top water strike with these reds is as impressive as it gets!! Emily Pittman, from Florida slammed a 37 pound red on top water this week.

This is also the time of the year where we see our larger trout as the larger females begin there staging patterns and become aggressive feeders. That being the case, this past week we have seen several nice trout over 5 pounds with the largest going slightly over 7. All were caught on soft plastics in about 4-6 feet of water
