The lodge is hosting a 3-day corporate team building sales meeting and fishing event for 22 sales staff this week- I was honored when asked to be a guest speaker on the first day - "Fishing To Win-The Key is You" (Growing your sales & taking care of the customer)

The wind started really building on Sunday ahead of a front expected to hit Monday. As I sit here typing this report early Monday morning, San Antonio Bay is getting rocked with 30 mph winds. The forecast for Monday is calling for mostly cloudy until late afternoon then becoming partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers in the morning...then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Breezy. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 15 to 25 mph shifting to the northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.

Fishing Sunday showed promise for Captain TJ with Justin H. crew while punching top waters. Bone spook Jr. worked well. According to Justin "We never took the plugs off, and we had a fun day of fooling fish on top." Captain David found immediate hook ups on reds with Chris R. and boys. They knocked the red fish out, and started catching trout. Capt. Steve entertained Bob & Linda E. longtime customers. Bob's first fish of the day was a 33" huge red, Linda also found a nice red. They switched to drift fishing for trout, and found plenty of trout to take home. Capt. Rick hit it out of the park with full limits of trout with Randy G. party. According to Rick "Once we found them, we never left." Capt. Harold found some nice sized reds for Randy G. guests. Captain Nathan worked hard for the second day with his group, but was unable to get a rally going. His guest said it was not for the lack of trying. They really enjoyed their stay, and have already looked at future dates to bring the family back down. Capt. Jason wade fished Bruce C. and guest with bone spook top waters. Many of their trout were over 22" and were fooled over sand & grass. They were able to locate a few reds as well.
